In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves is at the S&W booth to see Smith & Wesson’s new 5.7mm pistol. The M&P5.7 is a great new addition to the lineup of new 5.7 pistols coming to the market and is loaded with features. According to the press release from S&W:

“Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc., a leader in firearm manufacturing and design, is proud to announce the new full-size M&P®5.7 pistol with a 22-round capacity. In an effort to enhance the performance of the increasingly popular 5.7x28mm round in a polymer handgun platform, Smith & Wesson set out to deliver a new and innovative design that will offer a more reliable, accurate, and consistent shooting experience.

Designed within the M&P5.7 is Smith & Wesson’s new gas-operated, locked-breech, rotating Tempo™ Barrel System. Developed to harness the speed of the round, this new 5-inch barrel allows for a quicker extraction once the bullet passes the gas port, creating a more secured fireform effect. This key feature allows for increased precision following the first trigger pull and works to utilize the ballistic advantages of the 5.7x28mm round. “The M&P5.7 is an exciting new pistol from Smith & Wesson that incorporates a gas-operated Tempo™ Barrel System to effectively harness the 5.7x28mm round, creating a lighter recoil for an overall better shooting experience.

Like all Smith & Wesson firearms, the M&P5.7 is proudly made entirely in the USA and is backed by the Smith & Wesson Limited Lifetime Service Policy. Whatever your purpose, the M&P5.7 is versatile, fun, and a must-have,” says Andrew Gore, Product Manager, Handguns. The M&P5.7 is slide cut for optics to accommodate your preferred micro red dots, has a Picatinny-style rail for added accessories, and includes a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle with thread protector to allow for suppressed shooting capabilities. Its single-action flat-face trigger maintains a crisp break and is designed to allow for consistent finger placement that translates to more accurate and repeatable shooting. This pistol boasts a 22-round capacity and ships with two magazines.

MSRP is $699.00”

I’m most exited about the fact that more 5.7 pistols will eventually mean cheaper 5.7 ammo

Did James do a bunch a blow in the back before the interview?

  3. Ean Cox on January 24, 2023 at 1:36 am

Smith & Wesson’s motto: if they can do it eventually we can too. Although usually we won’t

  13. Peter Birch on January 24, 2023 at 1:43 am

Is it going to have the same issues as the M&P 10 mm? 😬

  14. GeauxRussGeaux on January 24, 2023 at 1:46 am

    The shield RDS ugh

  15. Johnny Ringo on January 24, 2023 at 1:47 am

  16. EJ on January 24, 2023 at 1:47 am

Would buy today if available but it’s not

  17. The Level Up Coach on January 24, 2023 at 1:47 am

  21. Son of Stavros on January 24, 2023 at 1:52 am

I hope they make a variant with a 4 or 4.5" barrel for carry, that thing is a hand cannon

  22. Jessy Favor on January 24, 2023 at 1:53 am

  25. Luke S on January 24, 2023 at 1:55 am

This guy talks like he doesn’t like the gun and doesn’t care whether you like it either

  26. Orenthal Simpson on January 24, 2023 at 1:55 am

Aren’t there problems attaching a suppressor to a rotating barrel?

  27. Jo Crowl on January 24, 2023 at 1:56 am

  31. House of Osborne on January 24, 2023 at 2:00 am

You can have it in any color you want, as long as it’s black

  32. Logan White on January 24, 2023 at 2:03 am

this gun would be great for people like myself who are sensitive to recoil but also looking for a self defense gun

  33. HMDM1 on January 24, 2023 at 2:04 am

S&W makes some great products, but until they take the woke lock of their revolvers…my money will go to other endeavors in the weapons world.

  34. Drew Robertson on January 24, 2023 at 2:06 am

If they went for 15 rounds and made it a subcompact size, I’d be even more interested.

  35. haywoodyoudome on January 24, 2023 at 2:08 am

I guess S&W doesn’t hire reps that really care about firearms.

  36. Tru King on January 24, 2023 at 2:10 am

A SMITH AND WESSON…. 5.7 PISTOL… FOR JUST $699? What a world we live in folks

  38. Victrola Fix on January 24, 2023 at 2:11 am

I had no interest at all in 5.7×28 before this… but this new gun looks AWESOME! I may have to consider one.

  39. GeauxRussGeaux on January 24, 2023 at 2:15 am

“i LiKe BlAcK” listen to Henry Ford over here 🙄

  40. mathew phillips on January 24, 2023 at 2:16 am

Damn nice, would like a metal frame option.

  41. Jo Crowl on January 24, 2023 at 2:20 am

    That interviewer is a monster.
He should host a syndicated show
on cable or a big platform. Great energy and professional competency.

  42. Chad Wik on January 24, 2023 at 2:22 am

    I am actually considering buying a S&W M&P….

  43. GeauxRussGeaux on January 24, 2023 at 2:22 am

This dude is not the on-camera dude. Someone should tell Mr. Smith and Mrs. Wesson.

  44. The Den of Gwydion on January 24, 2023 at 2:23 am

My only question about this one. There was a video on this handgun i saw where the ‘gap’ at the front end between the barrel/slide and the lower half of the pistol was noticeably wider than it was in the ‘still’ images. Is this a sign of ‘wear’ on the firearm or did it simply ‘look’ like it was loose?

  45. H B on January 24, 2023 at 2:25 am

I would like to make a trade exchange ☺️

  46. Tre' Roney on January 24, 2023 at 2:25 am

I hope next year zev or Glock make a 5.7 pistol

  47. redswift31 on January 24, 2023 at 2:26 am

Its sub 1k and holds 23 rounds? damn this might just turn out to be the best 5.7 on the market right now.

  48. Aaron Beck on January 24, 2023 at 2:26 am

Anyone else notice that the front of the lower, the picc rail is bent downward? I’ve watched 3 different videos so far from 3 different channels and all 3 firearms looked to have a bent rail right below the barrel.

  49. DL M (Sarge) on January 24, 2023 at 2:27 am

Looks like an interesting grip geometry, will be interesting to see some reviews from the range.

  50. David Tate on January 24, 2023 at 2:32 am

Honest out law like it .
