Thompson Center Dimension FULL Review

Thompson Center Dimension FULL Review

Any time I use the word “FULL” it means we’ve shot it, not just talking about it. In this case, we’re at the range, have shooting footage on camera and well, the results are obvious. 🙂

Does TC offer higher capacity magazines?

  2. squidger5936 on November 4, 2021 at 10:01 pm

The first group was rushed, plus you changed your position on the third shot and pulled it. Hanging on to the scope like that is not a good idea. It will definitely affect your group. Let the bench rest do its job and keep your left hand out the the way and the rifle will likely surprise you with its capability.

Thanks so much for the review. I just picked one of these up in 270. I have to say it is a sick rifle. Extremely accurate. God bless you…You need to come to WV and do some varmint/deer hunting

  4. James Campbell on November 4, 2021 at 10:03 pm

Great video, thanks for posting. I’m looking at either this or the CZ 527 Varmint. Both look like great rifles and to 204 Ruger just looks like a really fun cartridge to hand load and shoot.

  5. brian soto on November 4, 2021 at 10:04 pm

i know its an odd question for a gun vid, but where did you get those pants?? ive been looking for OD green cargos for a while and cant find any, the make of the cargos will be great thanks

  6. TheRemington110020 on November 4, 2021 at 10:05 pm

sure its not the prettiest gun on the market but when you hold one it feels like it was made for shooting (almost like its attached to your arm)

  7. Richard Smith on November 4, 2021 at 10:09 pm

Any body know where I can get a 204 Ruger barrel for a TC Contender? Thanks

  8. Just Cruisin' Oz on November 4, 2021 at 10:10 pm

    Sniff, .204, sniff. 223, alien look……sniff. 3 rounds magazine, sniff…………..cough….sniff, sniff… Safety off…right sniff…. Dry reaching after listening to that snot. Pro….not!

  9. josh holt on November 4, 2021 at 10:10 pm

Just waitin on the bull barrels for bout 3 yrs now that TC told me were about to come out back then

  10. Jesus Lopez on November 4, 2021 at 10:11 pm

Thompson Center doesn’t sale replacement stocks for the Dimension rifle, WHY?

  11. lightsabr2 on November 4, 2021 at 10:12 pm

Mine just came in–7mm rem mag, left hand. Can’t wait to get some glass on it and burn some ammo. ;-p

  12. Haus of Guns on November 4, 2021 at 10:14 pm

Not at this time. If that were to happen an outside source would have to do it. TC won’t spend any more development time on something they don’t consider to be ground up innovation. My guess is a Weather Shield version of the rifle will be next.

  13. Fezsi on November 4, 2021 at 10:14 pm

I’m also assuming if you had the Leupold quick detach rings it would hold your zero for that caliber? I don’t see why it wouldn’t

  14. Fezsi on November 4, 2021 at 10:15 pm

Not the biggest fan of the stock.. If they made just an average looking rifle like the Venture I’d really want one, but I hate the stock haha

  15. Bob on November 4, 2021 at 10:15 pm

I own this gun in the .204 ruger. Fantastic rifle, I like the looks and feel of it, makes traditional rifles look dated. The stock is way better than expected. So many companies put out hollow toy like stocks, this stock has a very solid feel, it feels expensive.
It shoots sub MOA all day long. Factory ammo is accurate easy to come by and cheap no need to bother with the reloading grind. And the great thing is I can order a 6.5 creedmoor barrel and not have to deal with FFA forms and charges. Its like 10 guns in one.

  16. Richard Fabbri on November 4, 2021 at 10:15 pm

    Great shooting!!!

  17. Janek Kos on November 4, 2021 at 10:15 pm

how long is this gun in cm?

  18. Bryce Rittenhouse on November 4, 2021 at 10:17 pm

Can you through a different stock on it??? not a huge fan of the looks of em

  19. robert j mcgregor on November 4, 2021 at 10:19 pm

barry white?! spare us the cutesy comments

  20. 3006USMC on November 4, 2021 at 10:22 pm

Loved the encore grip angle, hated single shot. Love t/c bolts guns, no left hand. THIS IS THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS !!!

  21. bassnbows on November 4, 2021 at 10:22 pm

On March 4th I’ll have one of my own! I love the look and feel of the gun. The free floating barrel just sets it over the Rem 700s for me. Cant wait!

  22. GreazyBill on November 4, 2021 at 10:23 pm

Too bad its the ugliest thing on the market

  23. Dimitry Souvak on November 4, 2021 at 10:24 pm

Did he sniffed cocaine before taking this video?

  24. Yu Toob on November 4, 2021 at 10:25 pm

ditto what DS said…it was actually my first issue of concern and i thought the entire concept and product could hinge on that "Bridge Mount". Since I’m a semi auto customer, must be bulletproof/failzero to direct fund$ away from anything semi auto..

  25. Corey on November 4, 2021 at 10:26 pm

why are you pushing on top of the scope? harmonics

  26. RGRundeRGRound on November 4, 2021 at 10:29 pm

    …So you said MSRP ~$600 range…
How about same group barrels? (same receiver and mags, right?)
I can see getting a rifle and 1 or 2 extra barrels at just under/over a grand!
    Does group B, C, & D carry a higher base price?

Nice review, remember: CHARGE THOSE BATTERIES! lol

  27. Pete Bentley on November 4, 2021 at 10:29 pm

Ok I have a t/c dimension left handed and I love it to,but I can buy another dimension for the price of buying the barrel bolt and clip plus another rifle scope to!!!!!

  28. Myron Horvath on November 4, 2021 at 10:31 pm

I like what I’ve seen, I am thinking this is going to be my next rifle!

  29. Haus of Guns on November 4, 2021 at 10:33 pm

I’ll be offering a post on the main sight shortly regarding return-to-zero ability of the cantilever base, which TC is calling the Bridge Mount. Will also be curious to see how it holds up.

  30. Shane Broomhall on November 4, 2021 at 10:34 pm

Great review, thank you, liked the review so much that I have today paid for my own in .204 Ruger.  I have also ordered the Rail to have one scope per barrel as well.  I will be getting .223 and .308 at least this year and am keen to see how you go with other calibers.  Keep up the posts as you get more calibers.

  31. john schum on November 4, 2021 at 10:34 pm

I have a .204 Ruger……very accurate and the stock is very comfortable. Just bought a .223

  32. Shawna DZ on November 4, 2021 at 10:36 pm

Just bought my first rifle today…a TC Dimension.30-06 Sprg. Haven’t fired it yet, lol, but so excited to take it to the range…bought a Diamondback Vortex scope to go along with it. Will be purchasing the C package for this module to get my .308 that I’m gonna use for hunting here in the AK. Thanks for the video!

  33. Haus of Guns on November 4, 2021 at 10:36 pm

Little bit of play but not obnoxious. Definitely better than my Savage Axis.

  34. Josh on November 4, 2021 at 10:42 pm

question. 1 If there so accurate straight outta the box why advertise the rifle using reloads instead of factory ammo?
question 2 long range shooting with 20” barrel, 22” or whatever length the barrel is… how would it stand up against the accuracy of an encore pro hunter that has the 28” barrels?

  35. Jesus Lopez on November 4, 2021 at 10:43 pm

I don’t know what cause my Dimension rifle stock to deteriorate in my gun safe. The stock has a very stick film on it.

  36. Mr. Plainview on November 4, 2021 at 10:45 pm

How was the bolt function, as far as "play" goes? Smooth, loose, wiggle, etc? Any problems with it so far? Im seriously considering getting this gun in the left handed config in 270.

  37. Duke Makedo on November 4, 2021 at 10:46 pm

As a newbie, am considering the Venture, because it would seem to let you try various calibers inexpensively. Anyone have more recent opinions on how the Venture behaves? Has the aftermarket produced higher capacity mag’s?

  38. Mr. Plainview on November 4, 2021 at 10:49 pm

All good suggestions. Doesnt sound like anything "big" that would push me away from buying one though. Got one in 270 left handed ordered yesterday. Pain to find, but hopefully its worth the 4 week wait. Thanks for the help.

  39. josh holt on November 4, 2021 at 10:50 pm

    IMO the stock looks sweet

  40. Haus of Guns on November 4, 2021 at 10:50 pm

Not really complaints just suggestions for expanding. IF T/C is looking to at the very least run this side-by-side to the Encore line, they’ll need to add a heavy barrel config, opening opportunities for muzzle brakes, extended magazines (thinking .204 & .223 prairie dog/varmint madness), maybe even some wood stock options would be nice. The bridge mount (removable/cantilever) is about 1/2" higher than I typically like too. These are all marginal thoughts. No deal breakers.

  41. Daniel Stoner on November 4, 2021 at 10:50 pm

My problem with this rifle (other than the lack of wood stocks and lack of halfway interesting chamberings and the detachable mag, something else to lose) is that I find it *very* hard to believe that zero will be held with the cantilevered scope mount, given that: (a) there’s a single, rather un-solid attachment point to the barrel and (b) the back of the mount has to be attached to the receiver, which might not be consistent from one tightening to the next. But the Icon rocks bigtime.

  42. Dennis Snider on November 4, 2021 at 10:50 pm

Ah hell them guns fornicated 😲

  43. 3006USMC on November 4, 2021 at 10:51 pm

Thank god its made left handed, major points for t/c !

  44. josh holt on November 4, 2021 at 10:52 pm

Jan 17, 2012 – The TC Dimension groups its available calibers into … There’s plenty of room on that stock to allow a free floated bull barrel and they plan to use every centimetre of space they have.

  45. Jesus Lopez on November 4, 2021 at 10:52 pm

Where do I find a replacement stock for my T/C Dimension rifle?

  46. Mr. Plainview on November 4, 2021 at 10:52 pm

Any other complaints on the gun at all?

  47. George Juarez on November 4, 2021 at 10:53 pm

    One ugly stock

  48. Stetson&Spurs on November 4, 2021 at 10:55 pm

Love the TC Dimension. I have two in Left handed. One in 30-06 and the other in 6.5 creedmoor. Both shoot really well and have preformed flawless in the field.

  49. Mike McNiel on November 4, 2021 at 10:58 pm

2019 a website, CDNN has them on sale for 299 BUDS is selling them for 478

  50. Haus of Guns on November 4, 2021 at 10:58 pm

They’ve got camo stocks coming out if they’re not already on the market. However no one that I know of is making an aftermarket stock yet. The design is too new and not entirely proven yet.
