My sister carried a S&W boot knife back in the day. Kept it in her purse. She told me that when she sat at the bus stop, she would have her hand inside her purse holding the knife. Nobody ever bothered her.
I have the S&W 12” baton (as well as a few others). I keep it very handy in my Jeep. The short length is perfect for deployment in a compact environment. And the strap allows me to carry it when I have to get out (such as while getting gas) and still have use of both my hands. It’s a very robust, and effective baton.

Bruh I’m the type of person that carries a knife but I don’t know if I have the guts to actually cut someone especially knowing that it might be fatal so I think imma buy that baton to Carrie for self defense

S&W (knives & tools) are made by Battenfield Technologies who also make Schrade. I’ve had mostly good experiences with S&W fixed blade knives and so-so experiences with their folders. Their fixed blades are always made from budget Chinese or Tiwanese steel (usually Tiwanese 1095, SK5 and Mn65). My favorite fixed blades so far have been the 5 inch Spec Ops Survival Knife and SWF1L Field Combat Knife. Both are Chinese steel but have stood the test of time with me. The SWBLOPS4BS is a great assisted opener with a big belly, gentle recurve and has the snappy MAGIC opening system and 4034 blade steel with milled aluminum handles.

That 606 boot knife is mine now. EXCELLENT dagger. My only regret is, that I didn’t get it sooner! Great review too btw…

  6. Toby Warrington on January 30, 2023 at 1:54 am

My thoughts on smith wesson are i want them

  7. Toco Lee on January 30, 2023 at 1:55 am

Appreciate your reviews. However, that’s a table full of S&W JUNK!

  8. mason cover on January 30, 2023 at 1:57 am

Are daggers like the swf606 supposed to be dull? I’ve tried sharpening it for hours to no avail. It can kind of cut paper but is certainly not sharp enough. Any tips?

  9. Random on January 30, 2023 at 1:58 am

You asked about favorite fixed blades. My favorites are no longer in production in their original configurations. The first two are Gerbers. The original Gerber number 2 fighting knife without the saw back, then the original Guardian, again with out the saw back. The last was my very favorite carry knife, the Kershaw Special Agent. All three were dagger blades. The Guardian had a special sheath that actually curved into your hip and practically disappeared. The Number 2 was one of the best fighting knives that was massed produced, most others at the time were hand made. The Special Agent fit my hand like it was made for me. It was my favorite. Carried it every night in my boot as I worked as a crap dealer in the Las Vegas casinos in the early to mid 80’s.

I actually have one of the boot knives and have been carrying it for the last couple of months and I’ve got to say that it’s probably one of the nicest dagger styles that I’ve ever had. My only complaint is that the hole in the back of the handle needs to be bigger for a finger

  11. Joe Rico on January 30, 2023 at 2:01 am

For starters and just for starters they need to have tip up carry . The boot knife may be ok the rest I would take that baton and beat the shit out of the rest of em but hey that’s just my opinion . But good job trying to sell something extremely difficult to sell once you have held it in hand .

  12. sturmgewehr70 on January 30, 2023 at 2:01 am

Just ordered the karambit. Only one left in stock now, if anyone is interested.

  13. #dereka 26 on January 30, 2023 at 2:02 am

Where to find that boot knife?

  14. Fried Pi 3.14159 on January 30, 2023 at 2:02 am

S&W when designing their single action OTF knife: “Lets put the release button right next to a really sharp edge.”
    Everyone: 😑

  15. Peter Benke on January 30, 2023 at 2:02 am

I have one of these. It’s a super super strong knife. Has a large pointy tip. This is the only knife I like 8cr13 on and it was cast in it’s form ( You can see small casting pits on the ricasso ) and the heat treatment was good. The hallow grind is good, but it can easily be ground more toward 17 degrees and you get a RAZOR sharp small knife. The design of the knife is good but I recommend filing the g10 above the lanyard/martial arts hole down almost to the metal, with a half moon profile file. It allows your thumb to rest right on the hole if your holding the knife in the reverse grip with your pinky in the choils (SPeLliNg). Almost impossible to get out of a gloved hand. The overall design, is so good that if they did one with Micarta and something like cpm3v I would pay 200.00 for it. Great knife.

I carry a multiple range of fixed blades, EDC! I’m using my wife’s phone by- the- way, I’m from, Canada, First Nations, War Chief. My name is Francis Russell Frederick Jr, aka. Phullylouaded Apache. I also carry 2- folder, and 1- tactical, Tomahawk.

  17. Kyle Drumm on January 30, 2023 at 2:07 am

Just got the boot knife. Wow! Impressive knife for the price point. High quality, weighted and very nice looking knife.

  18. Chris S on January 30, 2023 at 2:08 am

    I bet Holly’s hot

  19. Larry Marsico on January 30, 2023 at 2:08 am

    Decent "budget/cheap/cheaper" blade’s I guess…

  20. Stephen on January 30, 2023 at 2:12 am

    Boot knife.

  21. antonio587 on January 30, 2023 at 2:16 am

The boot dagger is one of the best knives ive had, if its too heavy you can take off the handles (real carbon fiber)

  22. Hudson Valley Outdoors on January 30, 2023 at 2:16 am

I like that pocket baton. May get one when I get payed next week 🙂

  23. sturmgewehr70 on January 30, 2023 at 2:17 am

Has the fixed blade sheath got a belt clip?

  24. Bob Chestor on January 30, 2023 at 2:17 am

I have a S&W boot knife (model SWHRT9BF) which I’ve deployed twice for self defense. Criminals want victims, not a fight. I recommend everyone should be armed and prepared to defend themselves. Personally I think S&W makes some of the best self defense tools.

  25. Matt Adler on January 30, 2023 at 2:19 am

That boot knife really is one of the best on the market. I’m generally not a huge fan of S&W, but I am quite familiar with boot knives that are available out there today, and outside of the high end/custom field, it’s in the top 3 best you can do under 100 bucks. I would say that it is very stiff competition for the Cold Steel Counter tac. 1 would own this, and probably will at some point given the price, but I went with the Cold Steel Counter Tac 2 for the more compact size. This knife is definitely worth the 25 or so bucks its gonna run you, so unless you feel like shelling out 110 bucks for a TOPs Bootlegger, this is an awesome choice.

  26. K. Stacks on January 30, 2023 at 2:22 am

S&W really needs to get their knife game together. The are like 20 years behind on everything

  27. Matt Adler on January 30, 2023 at 2:23 am

Holly, I actually think that’s poly/rubber on that second folder. Just my guess.

  28. jorge fernandez on January 30, 2023 at 2:25 am

If you like Schrade, you like Smith and Wesson. They’re both made by the same company. S&W knive’s qualify for it’s price, is excellent! I’m definitely a fan…

First video of yours I’ve seen. Really, really liked it. Great job. Keep up the great work. I instantly subscribed and gave your video a thumbs up.

Great value for money on these pieces and the folks @GX are always knowledgeable and friendly. I’ll be purchasing that double edge dagger as soon as I get paid and hopefully they don’t sell out in a week.

  32. gerome drepaul on January 30, 2023 at 2:32 am

    Congratulations Holly!

  33. Stephen Martin on January 30, 2023 at 2:33 am

I have two boot knives from Smith and Wesson and they are fine. I also have a Timber Wolf which is identical to the S&W knives and bought all of them at gun shows. I have spent time with the Timber Wolf to put an extremely sharp edge on its stainless steel blade These would all be great self defense knives.

  34. Paint Design on January 30, 2023 at 2:33 am

    I carry extrême ops bo38

  35. ipissed on January 30, 2023 at 2:33 am

For the spring assisted thumb stud knives instead of using your thumb pad to work the stud sideways, try running your thumbnail against the stud while wedging your thumb against the knife body. I think you will find it to be a game changer.

  36. Frank the tank on January 30, 2023 at 2:33 am

That dagger don’t look too bad for a boot knife.

  37. TheMobster450 on January 30, 2023 at 2:35 am

    Where are the links ?

  38. P-tricky 13 on January 30, 2023 at 2:38 am

I’d have that dagger if it was legal to carry in Hawaii.

  39. Victor on January 30, 2023 at 2:38 am

Never cared for kerambits until a watched a video where a man had to dispatch a pit bull that had his daughter’s arm in its mouth. Purposeful tools.

  40. Cristina Payne on January 30, 2023 at 2:39 am

I’m a female with a medium hand but short fingers. My edc is always a fixed blade. Carry a kabar usn mk1 that is a multipurpose blade for just about anything. Great flat grind blade. Fishing, hunting, camping utility as well as tactical. Have two backup edc, a capybara schrade and a cold steel kobun tanto. I like your reviews. They are precise and informative. I have a s&w and have no problems with the brand or knife. Thanks

  41. jody sisson on January 30, 2023 at 2:41 am

Anyone know if the first knife is legal in New York

  42. Goguryeo Rising on January 30, 2023 at 2:42 am

If S&W makes a big brother for the Smith & Wesson Black SWF606 Double-Edged Boot Knife, with a 6.5 inch blade, I will buy one without hesitation.

  43. Yharim on January 30, 2023 at 2:46 am

I read reviews on S&W knives from 5 to 9 years ago and they were low quality, but the one I bought and all the ones here seem to be amazing for a good price. Good video.
