Please dont ever say "Palmeeto" ever again.
The photos/videos in this review do NOT tend to depict 308 capable platforms.
Small female firing 9mm.
Grunts firing pencil barrel 5.56.
howa 1500, over all the guns you listed.
Palmetto State Armory
"Pal Mee to"?????
Why can’t we get Narrators that are "Well Versed Enough" to at least pronounce the names right instead of just reading a script.
Loses any credibility when they don’t even know how to pronounce the name.😞😞😞😞😞
Remington 700!, are they still even making that piece of junk in 2021?. Most guys I know buy a 700, come to their senses and throw it away. Then they buy a Tikka, Weatherby, Browning, Bergara or a Howa so they can shoot straight. Man that company (if it’s even still around) has fallen soooo far from grace it’ll will never rebuild it’s former glory days.
The first rifle I fired was my buddy’s 30-06. Was not as bad as I always heard!
I love the calibre, the problem is
Remington 700 🤣🤣 not anymore. There garbage
Thank you so much for this. Definitely a big help for shopping and considering some likely options for my first .308
Just my 2 cents but the accu-trigger is just not right for me. I had two of these and couldn`t wait to ditch them. Just keep it simple with a regular good crisp trigger.
Well, DPMS is Palmetto State…
I will not stand for this Howa 1500 erasure!
You left out the TC Compass and Compass 2.Great rifles, with exceptional features at a very affordable price as well as super accuracy guarantee. For around 400 dollars they are hard to beat
Made by 30-06 gang
"Why the .308?" Because it’s AVAILABLE right now.
I have an Axis 2 in 6.5CM but am planning to add an Axis in .308 in the next few weeks.
Who tf is Paul Meato? Lol
Remington 700 police with the 26 heavy barrel will still be my forever favorite
This will be my first year hunting with a new 308 bolt sausage I usually hunt with a 270 model 710
I own the ruger American and will be adding the ACIS to mines this winter
The ruger American goes for about 350 without an optic. My android smartphone costed me about 1k. I can get a bad ass ruger precision for not much more or the sig cross for a little bit more.
Thanks for the video.
The more you talk the more convincing you are that you don’t know what you’re talking about and blurt out what you got in the mail from American Rifleman
I just bought a howa 1500 in 308, impressed with it so far
*laughs in never shot anything other than a 12 ga until I was 16*
I suggest you purchase a decent rifle to begin with why struggle with a inaccurate rifle and barrel and malfunctions and spend a lot extra money trying to make it a clean accurate reliable rifle.
Cheapyosity isn’t always smart
1 t/c compass, 2 savage axis and 3 ruger american . Their accuracy is in that order . I have all 3 .I would not own a newer 700, to many issues .
308 30/30 30/06 are the best for Deer hunting I prefer the 30/30 unfortunately no thanks to former President Obama. It’s hard to fiend 30/30 ammo any more. And now we have this Fraud for president we may never see the good old 30/30 rounds again.
wow. dumb advice
Well boys and girls, I liked the the 308 in the US Army and it worked in 100% at that era (M-14 late 1960;s) . I Later owned one ( Rem 700 )and it was great for everything in North America hunting. The only limitation I found was elk , you hand to be right on target. At 300 plus yards a 308 could do the job if you were a real rifleman at 300 yards plus, on elk, If I had to choose one rifle caliber for North America it would be a .308 for everything. Deer, moose, bear, ,elk, all died quickly using a 308…
My R700 sps in 308 cost around $375 without a scope and my AR10 was about $1200 without. Saying they’re similar price points is absurd 🥴
No Mauser, Sauer, Tikka, Weatherby, Bergara…hmm.
The 308 was the worst I ever used !
Why do you show a 22 mag when talking .308?
Diamondback DB10 with 18” fluted barrel fresh out d box will kick all of these gun’s asses!! No B.S 💪🏽💯
Umm… where was the Browning BAR .308?
Howa 1500, Tikka, and Mossberg now days are fairy comparable to the Ruger and Savage for affordability and accuracy.
I don’t have a .308 but I do have a
M48 in 8mm basically the German version of 30/6
Thank you for a very practical walk through. So many of these kinds of videos are so focused on the features that they lose sight of why people are using them. Keep it going!
Advocating semi-auto, high-capacity mag, pseudo-assault rifles for ‘hunting’ is frankly just ludicrous. Yes, they can be made to work but in the same sense that a rock-crawling 4×4 can work as a daily driver. If you want a good reliable big game rifle, just get a bolt action. As far as cartridges go, a .308 is fine. If you want slightly less recoil consider a 7mm-08 or a .243 Win. If you’re new to hunting stay well away from anything with ‘magnum’ at the end of it’s name. A hard recoiling rifle can make shooting very unpleasant. The last thing you want to develop is a ‘flinch’. For new shooters I’d suggest .308 Win as the absolute upper limit.
Reloading for the 308 is so simple. If you can find powder and primers. I have resized 308 brass down to .243. It is a great and versatile round.
I personally own two of these, the Rem. 700 and the Springfield M1A SOCOM models.
I like 👍your video.
Lol ya buy a 308 but I’m going to show someone shooting a 17HMR.
With today’s prices for ammo i can’t even afford to shoot. It makes me sad. I miss the days of 14 cents a shot. I’ve been getting into .22 a lot more just for practicality and practice
Not sure why you would include a semi-auto in a list of bolt-action rifles, or vice-versa, if your hunting, most cases you can’t use semi-auto rifle due to hunting regulation, if your not hunting, why would you even consider a bolt action as a good choice for your first .308/7.62Nato rifle, if your doing some rifle training for tactical defense or just to have fun, a bolt action can’t compare to a semi-auto in a real tactical situation, bolt actions are for hunting or a specific bolt action competition, this is comparing apples to oranges, just doesnt work.
3:40 is when he starts talking about the individual rifles
Home defense? Jesus Christ that’s overkill. .. use a 308 if you don’t mind shooting your neighbors neighbor…
Nice informative review. Thank you
