My Marlin Camp 45 beats them all. I found one in a pawn shop for $550 a couple of years ago. They said it was broken, so I talked them down to $450. It needed a new buffer and spring. I replaced those parts but couldn’t stop there, so I baked a nice matte finish on the barrel and receiver, tracked down a Ramline folding stock, and now I have a sweet looking hog slayer. Did just that. Last year, with the old Marlin, I dropped a 350 pound boar at 30 yards. I use Buffalo Bore and Speer ammo with excellent accuracy. Next, I will deer hunt out to 50 yards or so. Never thought I’d see another one, but I found another Marlin 45 in a pawn shop. $1500 was way more than I wanted to spend. I was happy just to hold it, and happier to go home to mine.
