i just discovered this knife, and got mine today. i’ve been eyeing the Fairbairn-Applegate combat knife it is obviously patterned after, but i just couldn’t justify the price for something that will spend most days in a drawer.

I just picked one up at a swap meet for $10 I had no idea they were that inexpensive new. Mine needed sharpened right away. I like your review style.

One of the best budget combat style blades (I paid $23.00) in my humble opinion. Well-designed (minus cheesy writing) and solidly built. Rat-tail tang, which is fine. Excellent balance. Ergonomic handle. Mine came paper-cutting sharp. Folks really like to hate on 440 steel, but to assume it won’t do what a knife is supposed to do just because it’s 440 is just plain ludicrous. Unless one thinks a good knife should cost as much as a firearm, it won’t disappoint. Inexpensive blades like CS GI Tanto and Glock 81 outperform knives 5 times the price. Sheath is indeed rather cheap and over-designed, but is easily replaceable with another.
