What is the finish quality of Taurus revolvers?

Using my Raging Hunter 454 to illustrate the general fit and finish of Taurus revolvers. I also have multiple experience from previously owned and handled revolvers from this company.

I used to own two Taurus .44 magnum revolvers, never had and problems with them. They were very accurate. Unfortunately I came across hard times and had to sell them. I’ve been considering a Raging Bull or Raging Hunter in the future.

Love your Raging Hunter, that color scheme is great! I have never had a problem from my Raging Bull 444, Model 66, PT92, or PT1911. All of them have been great for me fit, finish, and function.

I just picked up my raging hunter in 460 from my local FFL.

Mechanically it seems to function perfectly, however the gun is absolutely filthy. There is white crust all over the rail. The inside of the barrel looks like it’s been shooting black powder loads. And most disappointing of all was that the grip was loose on the frame even though the retention screw was tight. I had to shim the grip with a very thick business card to stop it from moving. Not expecting that fix to last long.

That being said, cleaning a gun is easy and a loose grip isn’t that big of a deal. I still saved hundreds of dollars over buying a S&W. And it’s my understanding that s&w has been severely neglecting their quality control and customer service over the last few years.

Hello. We only talk about this gun for hunting or for fun. I would like to use it for home defense. Would you entrust your life to this gun? Thank you.

I have one in 5 1/8”, same color scheme. Excellent revolver. The triggers a little heavier than I’d like but its smooth and short in single action. Barely any gap between feed collar and cylinder. Super tight lockup.
