    Excellent video! Great tips!

Do you have any comments on prescription sunglasses – good brands, etc.?

The Safety Glasses are very good but my ears don’t fit into headphones 🐭

Good video. Only other thing I would recommend is a bag to keep everything together.

I like wearing a hat to help prevent spent shells landing on your face. Doesn’t really happen much with outdoors, but a shell can eject bounce off the shooting box frame and come back at you. Comes in more handy when shooting with indoor ranges. Has prevented hot cases landing on my face from another shooter

What about prescription lenses? I wear varifocal normally but often single vision, distance polarised shooting. Do you have any recommendations please?

Also worth pointing out when wearing full ear defenders with glasses you can get a gap around the top on some that don’t cushion around the ear which can let sound in as shown in the video.

Can those glasses have a prescription insert put in?

David thank you for another good video. I’ve gone to plugs and muffs on the rifle and pistol range for just the reasons you brought up. Peltor makes several models and for shotgunning I use either my old electronic 6s or the same shape without electronic shotgunner model. I’ve had the 6s pair since the late 90’s and change out the cushions and inner foam as they age.

Good bit of advice on how eye pro should sit as well as styles that will not distort the view when the gun is mounted. I and others I shoot with tend to use RE Engineering or Decot HyWyd glasses. Both are high quality and very durable. RX lenses are a not super expensive option with either company. One of the really nice things is that the temples are thin so that when wearing them with hearing protectors the seal around the ear isn’t broken. I have some Oakley glasses that I use on the rifle and pistol range which have thicker temples which DO compromise the seal around the ear.

I always wear a cap especially on the skeet field. What I was taught many years ago was to angle the cap back while shooting so it doesn’t limit the view.

With all the gear you just showed really the only thing that’s single purpose is the vest. The other things can be used when working around the house, farm, etc. Due to constant ringing in my ears I use my ear protectors for a large number of purposes. The same applies to eye pro.

The single most important piece of safety equipped cannot be purchased. It resides between your ears. Knowing, understanding and practicing safe gun handling requires attention, and discipline. There is no substitute for safe gun handling.

Peltor electronic ear plugs, US$150.00. Ranger shooting glasses, US$169.00. Never pointing your muzzle at something you are not willing destroy, priceless.

Question David . I take your view regarding restriction of sight with a cap, would it be frowned upon if it was worn back too front ? or is that the norm if you tote a semi – automatic !

Good honest advice at its best. 👍

Deben are the best ear defenders

Electronic ear defenders are the best, CENS the be specific. The sound transfer from the outer ear is so quiet it will never cause damage. If you restrict all sound then you are a risk on the ground unable to hear what is going on around you. The best glasses are Pilla the lenses are made by ziess. You can wear any hat it does not have to be a cap. A price of clay will cut you if it hits your face and a peak will stop that so any hat you wish but advise is to wear one ☝🏼
