Which Acog reticle ? They all work fine, but which reticle is optimal?

The ACOG isn’t a cheap optic, so selecting the right reticle for you, may help you dodge buyer’s remorse after you see them in action.

Thanks for watching !
I see what you did with the “jumping” spider @ 23:40
Great vid. What ballistics app are you using?
You’re a good teacher man. You’ve done a good job explaining the concepts on your channel without clouding with unnecessary detail and without talking over my head. Why say many word when few word do trick? lol
Brother I wish you were my neighbor. I am looking still can’t figure out which Acog to buy for my new Scar17 especially the color. Thank you for your time and effort putting into your video. Greatly appreciated!
Thank you.
fantastic video 🙂
This was the best ACOG video I’ve ever seen. Answered every question even the ones I didn’t know I had and gave me more input on choosing my reticle. Thank you
Wow!! Most intuitive Acog video on YouTube….by far. Thank you.
This video was so intricately made, I didn’t expect to watch the full 32 min but I did. This man deserves a sub 🫡
How the hell is there a rhino in this?
this is absolutely textbook great!! talk about real world
What i love about the Chevron is that at 100-200yds depending on your target size, you can always see what you’re shooting at because the tip sits below your point of aim. Whereas many other dot based sights you cover your target with the reticle.
most comprehensive video on acog reticles
Got a question about the color breakdown in electro-optics, and the community behind this video seems to be the best place to do it.
I ran my own test with a holosun 507 in red dot and green and found that with even the brightest backstops, like a sunny white cloud or sun reflecting off pure white siding on a bright day, the green ramps up so much more that it appears a brighter white or slightly lime-ish white and is still apparent, whereas the red is just drowned out. This also seems to be the effect on the yellow-browns.
It would then appear that while on an ACOG the green can be limited by the amount of light it can collect, but still be enough to drown out the black etching, that it’s inferior over the broadest applications to the red that will never overpower the black etching… but on a reflex optic without etching, the green’s ability to get much brighter than almost any ambient environment seems to be a surer bet, though it does take manual adjustment in general.
Any thoughts on how some of the color information here translates to non-etched electro-optics?
Absolute 🐐 ACOG video. Very informative and well thought out. Thanks mate
Thanks for the video, you did a great job and had great points
You are very well spoken sir
Great quality video
Very informative and to the point.
Great video!!! Earned my subscription.
Hello. I have question about battery powered ACOG vs tritium or and fiber. Do you see illuminated reticle when looking at these from the front in the dark? Thank you.
Very good video.
Very good video.
Bravo!
Brilliant info!
Is the TA31-RCO the only option for a 20" A4 clone? I would like a different reticle but it seems everything else is designed for 16".
Trijicon ACOG Rifle Scope, 4X32, .308 Amber Center Illumination for M4A1, Flat Top Adapter, Backup Iron Sights and Dust Cover TA01NSN-308 for 850 bucks for a scar 17?? Whatcha think
Edit the reason I ask is if I’m going to possible be taking off the fiber and the amber color won’t matter as much since it won’t show unless low light no light
It just get the ta11??
Thanks, you earned my sub.
I have a lot of experience with traditional reticles and have been flirting with getting a chevron…looks like I’ll be picking up a crosshair model.
Are their models that are more specified for 14/16/18/20 barrels?
For me red sucks in day light brighter than cloudy. Green works better for me in bright day light. But I agree black works way better for most cases. My other issue is understanding all the different reticles and me personally blurring of red or green dot due to astigmatism.
One of the more informative videos I’ve come across. Excellent job! Learned a lot.
Seriously, I cannot believe this video exists. It is really that good. Thank you for taking this time. Helped me immensely.
Do the SIG Tango LPVO Reticle please! This was amazing.
Props to the old lady being a moving target for demonstration purposes
That was a great video, I was thinking about switching to a LED ACOG and this just cemented my decision. Having the ability to switch between illuminated and black reticle very quickly for aiming without having to play around with tape was something I never thought about. It also helped me decide to switch to the red crosshair version. Now I just need to decide if I want the TA110 or the TA02.
Pro tip. You can cut a section of bicycle inner tube and trim it to only wrap around the front and rear lenses while leaving a top connecting piece. That way you can twist it which will expose and cover the fiber optic.
As someone who is colorblind I would love a blue reticle
It seems that all of the blooming chevron problems are solved by the TA02.
Well done
I have an ACOG and I never knew about the pros and cons. You just earned another sub. Great vid.
High quality content, needs more views, thank you sir!
Okay so is amber color basically yellow?
Incredible video. Thank you
Great video!! Now I’m still struggling on which one I want but I’m better informed 😂
Wow thanks for the vid!
I sincerely appreciate your videos. Data analysys long overude.
I just bought the 3.5 LED Red crosshair from Brownells, Im putting mine on a 20" Colt AR15A4 Do you have any recommendations for the zero ? I will use XM193 i saw some videos where people said to zero at 25 yards using the the tip of the line underneath the center cross hair..
My first optic that isn’t Aimpoint.
Great info 👍
ACSS hands down
That was great. Subscribed.
Man, what an amazing video
I have the green cross hair model out to 600 with nickel boron finish. Got it used at a local gun shop. Looks sweet on a black rifle. Great video
Dumb question, because I am dumb. Wouldn’t blaze orange work best for a red dot color?
looking at getting the TA02 LED with the horseshoe dot but not sure if I should get the green reticle or the red. What do you think?
I’m trying to decide between ACOG and LPVO, and at first I was all in for ACOG, but the more I look into this matter, the more I am leaning to the LVPO. Thanks and Blessings for this most informative and experienced information.
